Ladies and gentleman, ready up your ear holes… it’s time for Finland to invade them. Our guest this week is none other than Mr. Antti Kautonen, our very own European Editor. He’s in California for ten days, so this is just the first of two podcast episodes with our favorite Finn.
When we knew Antti was coming to the states we had to arrange the appropriate vehicles for him to drive. First up? A 2014 Dodge Challenger RT Blacktop. After that? A Ram 3500…
‘MURICA.
So sit back, open your brains and ears, and allow the dulcet love metal voice of Antti Kautonen mix with Blake Z. Rong and producer Chris Hayes. Hop the jump and hit play already.

"…speaking of coke, the Challenger…"
Best transition ever.
Is Antti enjoying the 'merkin car experience? We like our cars hairy chested and brutish over here.
He's said the Challenger is very hard to park… he's screwed with the Ram then.
Hilarious.
At least on the Ram you can see the corners of the hood & the tailgate, and guess where the actual corners of the vehicle are located from those references.
I've been driving cars that are roughly Challenger-sized for nearly 20 years (1973 Mercury Cougar; 1996 Ford Thunderbird; 2010 Challenger R/T). Never had any trouble parking the Fords. The Challenger, though?? That's another story…
Antti has it right; the 900 is for doing 80mph on slightly curvy highways. It isn't a hot hatch and it definitely isn't sporty.
You guys are all too young to truly admire the revelations that were the Reatta, Allante, and Buick T-types. We had high hopes any time the Big 3 did something different. These cars came on the heels of things like the Chevy Celebrity and yet additional permutations of the K-car. The Buicks were legitimately awesome cars, the Grand Nationals even more so. The Reatta and Allante looked great.
Young whipper snappers, get offa my lawn
Born in '68, I remember the oil embargo era too well.
Depends on the particular Buick T-type. We had an '83 Century T-type with the 3.0 'litre' V6… it was not awesome. Some of its last trips under its own power were when I took my test(s) to upgrade from a learner's permit to a restricted license when I was 14.5 years old, late in the summer of 1995.
The Quad4 was never offered in the Toronado, but it was installed in export-market Dustbuster minivans (and teamed with a 5-speed stick), which featured Oldsmobile Silhouette noses but were badged as Pontiac Trans Sports.
