Podcast-Image-Lead-147

Chris and I are joined in the studio by guests Aaron Gold (About.com) and Miles Branman (Digital Trends). The topics include some new car news:

  • Tesla Model 3
  • Mazda patents a rotary engine
  • Porsche makes a …chair.
  • BMW offering an incredible two-day driving school.

After that, we get into how our guests got into the world of automotive journalism. Aaron got his start as an intern in the UK and Miles fell in with the Fast Lane Daily team. After that we meander through listener questions before a few updates on the truck and other things we’ve driven.

Way to go Aaron Gold. I’m a big fan…awesome show.

Btw I’m one of those nuts who is getting a tesla model 3. I figure AWD and dual motors with autonomous driving mode should cost me between 50 and 60 large. Should be a blast.

I test drove the model S in insane ludicrous mode and it rocked. Same for the autonomous mode on the highway…looks sort of like an Aston Martin as well. Big win although I’m still keeping my corvette for roof off fun.

Keep us posted what your doing so we can listen or watch.

Thx! I’ll be on both The Smoking Tire and the Hooniverse Podcast this coming week as well. BTW, I think you are right on with your cost estimates for a top-end Model 3. The big question is… WHEN will you get your car?

At this point, is the rotary’s need for oil a flaw, or just a regular quirk? Is it any worse than the modern crop of diesels that need to be kept filled with urea?

I just don’t think there’s any way to keep the engine sealed. Remember, you’re *supposed* to add urea to a diesel!

I might be getting confused with the diesel particulate filter in the Ram, but aren’t there diesels that get bricked if you don’t keep the urea isn’t topped up?
