Podcast-Image-Lead-115

Gale Banks is a man who knows what it takes for an engine to create power. He’s been in the business of creating reliable and powerful engines for decades now, and the man has incredible stories to share. Gale was a guest awhile back on Episode 21 and now he’s come back to share more of his wonderful insight and knowledge.

Banks is one of our favorite guests, and we could easily turn this into a three-hour podcast episode. Alas, it can’t last forever and Gale had to run off to have dinner that evening with his good friend Syd Mead.

Yup, he’s more fascinating than you even knew…

Wow, a podcast that has more than random profanity and beer! (You know I keed.) Seriously, that was a very fun discussion to listen to.

You know, now that I’ve gotten comfortable with the Kizashi, a bit more oomph would be nice…. Do you think you could talk to Gale about a turbo kit for my J24B?

Honestly, the market is too small for a manufacturer the sizes of Banks to take a on a project like that. It’d be well over a $1M investment on their part and I’d be surprised if they sold a handful of kits. Probably not what you want to hear but it’s the harsh economic reality of this business.

I meant it strictly as a joke.

FWIW, there actually IS a Kizashi turbo kit, should I actually want to spend 40% of the purchase price of the vehicle on a 25% HP boost:

This whole comment format kind of sucks for inflection. Believe me when I say that comment is absolutely within the normal confines of things people ask me.

Also, I’m not surprised somebody makes that kit, I’d be curious to find out if they’ve sold more than three.

FWIW I actually liked the Kizashi.

To my knowledge, there was their development car and one customer car.
