The 684-cc two-stroke twin that powered DKW’s F89 “Universal” could only manage enough of a head of steam to get the car up to a top speed of 59 miles per hour. That’s not anywhere close to what even the least capable modern car can do, but the 1951 – 1954 Woodie estate is just so twee that I wouldn’t mind being late everywhere I go just so long as I could arrive in this.
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

  1. I’m not saying it would be slow, but you’re likely to see a line of microbuses behind it, all with their signals on.

  2. TESLA FIRE!

    No, not a Tesla automobile on fire. The Tesla Fire is burning outside Livermore, CA and is so named because it started near Tesla Road, which is also not named after the automobile, they’re in Fremont. Tesla Road evidently gets its name from a coal mine that was supposed to supply an electric power plant.

    JeepJeff! They evacuated Carnegie OHV! I developed a hole in my stator cover that’s not so bad I can’t ride on the street, but one more tipover on the left side and I’m screwed; that’s kept me out of the dirt. Let’s see if we can get a ride going in October? Should cool off by then.

  3. A micro shooting brake, with suicide doors and those cool headlamps? Oh, yes…
    {scurries off to ebay, as though he’s really going to find such a thing}
