While a solid example of mid-nineties Mercedes design, what the R129 SL roadster really lacked was fins. I think they should really be bringing back the fins.
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day.  It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

    1. I’d like to see a Cadillac XLR with some Heckflosse fins welded to it, just to undo some of the damage this Last Call image has done to me.

  1. This is one of those rare things that looks better in execution than theory.

Still not the greatest, but a heck of a lot better than one would expect.

  2. Car show season is about to ramp up here in the Queen City, and I am excited. The first big one is in less than two weeks, and it’s going to be a big one. I hope to bring all y’all plenty of pictures and commentary. If we’re lucky, our own longrooffan will have plenty of stories to share as well. It should be great. http://coffeeandcarssgf.com/

          1. Send me an email at myhandle @ myhandle . com with your mobile number and we can set something up when I’m down there.

  3. Goes a long way to illustrate how incredibly large those Caddys were. Works somehow as a matchbox-ish design, too.

  4. The combination of pastel yellow and metallic gold is not an insignificant contribution to the repulsiveness.
