Like the old saying goes………..there's no looking back.

I saw a Renault Fluence yesterday at Rancho Market in West Valley, Utah with Phillipine plates.
I stopped traffic because I was confused. Terribly confused.

I saw one three years ago, just outside Lawrence Kansas, and had about the same reaction. Didn't ever get a clear look at the plates, though…

Also fun: rolling down a window so you can bust out the ice with your elbow. Makes a mess. Worth it.

Less fun: Having electric windows that won't come up again because they took some ice with them into the door. I drove about ten miles in -15 degrees C like that this winter.

My girlfriend tried to do that, but by the time the window got into the door all the ice caved in on her.
      It was awesome.

While working a co-op assignment in Michigan, I learned the hard way to leave the pop-up headlights on a C3 Corvette UP (there is a little stem you pull to leave them up) if there is a chance of freezing rain.
Get out and pound hard enough to break the ice, but not the fiberglass….

This was after the ice storm we had a few years back. The ice came off in a neat quarter-inch-thick impression.

I wish I still had photos of my first ice storm in Oklahoma. Parked my daughter's HHR in the driveway so as to allow the family minivan to be in the garage.
When after 2 days of freezing rain and cold temps I needed to drive said HHR, the ice on the doors and windshield was so thick that I needed a hammer to crack it.
    A hammer.
    On the windshield.
Thankfully, I was able to successfully remove the 2" thick ice without breaking or denting anything.
