Oil treatments, gas treatments, water pump lube, the automotive aisles are filled with more liquids and powders to make our cars last longer, and perform better, than you can shake a dipstick at. Some are recommended as maintenance retinues, while others are the last ditch attempt of an owner, whose car is on its last legs. Are you either of those, or do you stay away from these performance poultices like they were snake oil? When a car rolls off the end of the assembly line, it’s filled with gas, lubricant, coolant, and that new car smell. But over the months and miles, wear and use can degrade both performance and your car’s health. That’s why many owners turn to automotive steroids- chemicals that promise increased power, better mileage, and whiter teeth. Well, maybe not that last one, but you get the picture.
