This past weekend, I met up with Hooniverse commenters Number_Six and CaffeineFuelled in the small town of Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Every year, the Reynolds Automotive Museum in that town puts on an enormous car show known as History Road. Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing some of the amazing automotive exhibits that were on display there. For the time being, here’s a little preview to keep you interested in the meantime. Hop the jump for a few more.
The hardest part about sorting out all the goodies to be found at History Road is figuring out how to share them. There’s so much awesome, sometimes I don’t even know where to start. So here’s a collection of ornaments and badging to whet your appetite.
Thanks to Number_Six for sharing his images, since many of his turned out better than mine did!

Jealous! I've wanted to visit the Reynolds for quite some time now.

I believe that's actually required by law.

Beautiful photos. Nicely done, Number Six.

Hey hey hey! They weren't ALL Number_Six's! Many were mine!
All the ones you like best are mine, obviously. 😉-
You two must have coordinated. The emphasis on scripts and hood ornaments is delightful.

We did actually. And I have no idea which are his and which are mine. I think a lot of the best ones are his. My camera seemed to be having a little shit-fit that whole day. So I just lumped them all together and picked the best ones.

* Possibly totally true. But at least I varied the vroom-vroom noises depending on the engine of the car I was pretending to drive.

I'm a fan of aircraft hood ornaments on automobiles. I bet you can't figure out why!
Nicely done, Deartháir and Mr. Six! I guess we should also thank CaffeineFuelled since she was probably the DD and had to haul an obnoxiously drunk Deartháir and Number_Six around. I like these series of posts (like the one Mr. Solex recently concluded). It helps those of use holding down a chair in a cubicle pretend we are actually seeing the world!
PS: That Lotus logo reminds me. The other day I was getting off the freeway when I saw what I thought was a Lotus Elise. But it looked a little different and the logo was weird. So, I stopped at the light and waited for it to catch up. Lo and behold, it was one of them Tesla Roadsters in the flesh! I sure do hope Ford isn't wasting their time checking these out.-
While Deartháir and Number Six were wandering around camera-happy, I may or may not have been dragoning (or the girl-equivalent of) an Austin Healey 3000. I have no idea if they were drunk or not… hehe.

I don't blame you, and my respect for you has just grown.
I want an old A-H, a pipe, and a tweed jacket. Then me and my dog will drive around looking down our noses at people.

All you folks will enjoy the book Brightwork: Classic American Car Ornamentation by Ken Steacy.

I actually own that book. It's on my coffee table. It is quite excellent.
