Ah, the French. Culinary masters, originators of the sublime art of the mime, and super sidecar builders. . . . whaaaaa?
Twenty years ago a friend offered François Knorreck a ride in the sidecar of his motorcycle. Knorreck was so enraptured by the experience that he vowed to create the ultimate side car, and spent the next two decades on this Quixotic quest.
The result is an odd machine that is neither car nor bike. From the left side, it looks like the motorcycle is racing a tiny Ferrari. From the right side, it looks like the world’s fanciest Segway.
Knorreck has made several modification to the bike, and unlike a traditional sidecar there is no chance of the Bike’s rider yanking a pin and having the sidecar peel off and into a tree, ala Bugs Bunny.
The aluminum frame and carbon fiber shell present a level of quality and detail rarely found in a home-built vehicle. And while the fully enclosed sidecar denies riders that wind in the hair feel of a traditional three-wheeler, the twin seats and stereo will offer opportunities for other activities while underway. The total cost of the project is estimated by Knorreck to have been $22,000, and he claims to have taken it to 125-mph. Check out PopSci for some more pics and details, and wonder what he’ll do for an encore.

Hey, You Got Your Tiny Kit Car In My Motorcycle!
-
I weep for the Laverda.
-
If I had a mother in law that's what she'd be riding in. You'd never hear a peep.
This thing is terrible. Even worse than a three wheeled Gold Wing. Feh. -
I care for my mother-in-law much too much to ever show this to her.
-
You forgot to add the "three wheeled horror" tag to this post. I keep coming back to look at it. It's like a scab I can't stop picking at.
-
By posting it to the internet, you're only encouraging him.
STOP IT NOW. -
When speaking French the adjective usually comes before the noun, therefore its easy to see how the builder mistook " 'Busa motor in a Fiero"
-
It's a three cylinder Laverda. Makes it great in my book.
