For Sale- Barbie's Dream Celica

By Robert Emslie Feb 7, 2010

For just $5,000, this Tacoma 2RZFE-powered ’80 Celica could be – nay, should be – yours. Found on the Zilvia.net forums, this pretty in pink toyota coupe comes with a host of modifications, some of which are for the better! The seller describes the body kit as one-off that exist only on this car, and I guess for that, we should be thankful. At one time the  car appears to have been a medium azure, but now rocks a couple of gallons of Pepto on the lower half, with only the roof still feeling those blues. Slammed and JDM’d, this Celica is a car you’d be assured never to see a twin of, no matter where you drift. Inside there’s a cage, which really should be on the outside – you know, to contain this car’s GREATNESS. The driver’s seat is a racing bucket, and that faces a blue metal flake and chrome steering wheel. The seller says that he’s hanging onto the pink five-point as well as the hand grenade shift knob, and I mean, who can blame him? The post on zilvia.net lists a litany of added/replaced parts, but my favorite is the cheapy harbor freight guages(voltmeter, water temp, oil pressure). It also benefits from a Supra rear axle with disc brakes, the better to contain the cat-off 131 whp the Tacoma 2.4 is claimed to be putting out. If this is the car for you, or you just want to pour over the details of its extensive modifications, you can find the post here. or, if you need something to cleanse the mental palate after seeing that, try here.
