The StanceWorks garage now fills its air with sparks, the sound of metal being bent and welded, and progress. Mike Burroughs begins the process of bringing his Ferrari F40 project car to life. A long road stretches out ahead of him but the process of fabricating the chassis has begun.

As a quick refresher on this build, StanceWorks acquired original Ferrari F40 body panels. These are the real deal. Recently, Burroughs showed off the powerplant to be used here, and it’s also a real-deal Ferrari unit. This F40 Evo will pack a Prancing Horse V12 plucked from an 812 Superfast. That means it will be good for 800 horsepower and rev to 9,000 rpm.

None of that will happen, though, until there’s a place to actually put that engine. So the work of creating an actual chassis needs to happen. Mike walks you through his process of starting it all, and it’s fascinating to someone like me who couldn’t imagine building something at this level. He has to deal with a body that left the factory with mismatched measurements, and he wants to mate that to something he’s going to build that needs to be square.

This involves a lot of measurements. A lot of time. Tons of effort. Of course, it will also take quite a bit of skill. Either way, I can’t wait to see this build progress.
