The 1961 through 1965 BMW 3200 CS was the swan song of the 501 platform. Designed by Bertone it heavily influenced the lines of the ensuing Neue Klasse 2000 coupes and as a natural evolution the beloved shark-nosed 6-series. Here we see it from one of its less iconic angles but one that is still essential and, this being Friday, makes for a perfect getaway to the weekend. Let’s just drink in all its silvery goodness.
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day.  It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

  1. From the time when BMW’s credo was making ‘well built Alfa Romeos’ rather than ‘slightly sporty Mercedes Benzes’.

  2. I remember alfa was the ultimate driving machine and BMW was just starting out in the segment…it was the reliability that Americans craved but more so believe it or not…the automatic transmission…
Once emissions and bumper regulations went into full effect the cash starved Alfa brands half baked solutions put an end to the battle.

    1. Actually, I like it in white. Very cleanly styled. I’d change your wording to: “So meh in white clean-lined, unlike their current overly cluttered and creased line-up“.
