My answer here is easy; it’s the black and gold of the John Player Special livery. Even today, I’m a sucker for products in that color scheme. It doesn’t even have to be car-related, as there’s a new mountain bike helmet I want simply because it’s black and gold. My plan is to eventually have my mountain bike wrapped in a black and gold scheme using JPS livery fonts, but I need to find someone who can create that and install it properly.
But I admit, as far as liveries go it’s not a particularly exciting one. Yes, it’s tied to amazing machines and drivers but it’s not overly eye-catching. I like it for its simplicity. Some of you may prefer more over-the-top stuff and I want to see that.
Sound off in the comments with your favorite liveries…

Ok, somebody instruct me on how to post pics on this new wonky system. Did this work?
There are so many!
JPS is a first one that would come to my mind.
Mercedes “silver arrow” is fantastic because they managed to make a single color their brand.
AMC’s red/white/blue was perhaps the most iconic and communicative of any factory livery.
But for sheer gut feels, it’s a Tuesday answer: the Yamaha Speed Block.
The images got borked in the Big Switch, but..,
I didn’t know the Yamaha thing had a name! Recently re-did a friend’s R6 track bike paint job and we went for a variation on the speed block.
The livery which draws the spiral of the BASF label on audio cassettes out over the entire car was tastefully and cleverly done. Good graphic design to me:

I forgot to mention the BMW Motorsport, conveniently placed in the background on the 3.0CSL “Batmobile”
I can’t shake the influence that Transformers had on my childhood, making the Martini and Alitalia liveries very iconic for me.
