Everyone knows that with a a little work a 510 can be transformed into a kick-ass little autocrosser. But who has time to actually get out to the garage and build one? For only $2500 you can buy this one ready to race.
While not heavily modded, the seller has subscribed to the Colin Chapman school of thought and added lightness to the car wherever he could and removed everything that was not of vital importance.
And while the engine and drivetrain remain mostly unmodified, alot of other race goodies have been added in all the right places to scoot yer butt around the track in confidence.
And HELLO?! Just look at those 13×10’s! The seller claims it could (if you can pass it in your state) be a daily driver but wouldn’t recommend that. Whatever! I guarantee this will make any commute something to look forward to.
Find it on Craigslist for only $2500
hat tip to our beloved Amber!
Oh damn you……damn you for tempting me so.
tempt….. tempt….. TEMPT…..
hey, Hooniverse needs a success story, go save that Dime and tell us about it!!
Didn't you and Eleanor already write one, or since it's ongoing it doesn't count?
If I could quickly unload the E30 for a decent amount I could swing it. Otherwise one more car in the stable and I'd be in big trouble with the wife.
I'd drive this daily, hell yeah. Drop in a bridgeported, non-idling, 8 MPG, screaming devil of a 13B and go at it.
Just be sure to wear a helmet!! A rollcage and an un-helmeted head ensure one result in the case of an accident: brain injury.
But yes, you should drive this daily. You would look awesome decked out in nomex and helmet and driving gloves, staring down every beige driver that thinks they're cool.
Fender flairs. All it needs. And me, it needs me.
Sick little beasty. I love it. I like the fact that the seller warns that it is loud and uncomfortable, probably shouldn't be driven on the street. Sign me up, sounds good to me.
Is it just me or does that make you want the little bastard even more? It just seem so naughty. I bet the cops here in Auburn wouldn't like it, but it would be a helluva lot of fun on the backroads on the way to work every day. Every time I read something else in that ad that would make most people want to distance themselves from it, I just kept wishing it was closer.
I really wonder if it is that loud or uncomfortable. My Lemons car from last season (and hopefully again later this season) has a hard mounted Quad4 and is lowered. The seller said it was rough, noisy, and unsuitable for street driving. I did not find that to be the case. I didn't drive it beyond my neighborhood, but I've had much harsher cars and definitely much louder cars. Of course, I put a new exhaust on it to keep the fumes out and comply with the Lemons noise limits, but still, prior to the work, it wasn't even as loud as some of the other cars that I hear on the road.
Thank you for such a fantastic blog. Where else could one get this kind of info written in such an incite full way? I have a presentation that I am just now working on, and I have been looking for such information.
Funny, your webpage formats beautifuly on my new iPhone, didnt look quite right on my old peice of junk.
Could one solution be parking permits for our street? I would be more than happy to pay for a parking permit and help monitor the street if there any cars that don’t have the stickers. Other neighborhoods/street in Mt. Washington do it, why not Kambach?
This is a topic close to my heart cheers, do you have a RSS feed I can use?
