Three (?) Wheel Tuesday? For Adventure Trikes, Absolutely!

Adventure Bikes make a lot of sense for a focused segment of the motorcycle industry. In fact, the segment is expected to continue to grow over the course of the next decade, seemingly in parallel to the continued growth of adventure vehicles of the four-wheeled design. People want to go on a journey and it’s an adventure bike that will take them there… but what about adventure trikes? Zack and Ari from Revzilla put a pair of three-wheeled machines to the test to see what’s possible with an extra point of contact.

It’s a battle of the Can-Am Ryker and the Yamaha Niken… and the tallest peaks in California. In fact, the tallest peak in California also happens to be the tallest point in the lower 48, which sits just outside the town of Lone Pine, where this journey begins.

The pair rip through dunes and over snowy passes and eventually find their way to a twisting road that leads to their destination. The trip takes a few days. These men and their machines are put to the test. But eventually, the adventure trikers learn a lot about what’s possible on these three-wheel machines as they roll on into the town of Three Rivers. And as usual, for an always excellent Common Tread video, the guys have fun and finish with smiles on their faces.
