If I had to choose any Aston Martin Vantage to own, and what a fortunate choice it would be, I know exactly which one I’d pick. It wouldn’t be any of the modern ones. It would be that glorious V8 coupe from the late 70s. You know the one… that looks vaguely like a Mustang. It wouldn’t be the best Vantage, but it is the one that most appeals to me. If, instead, I had to choose the best Vantage, it would be the one you see in the video below; the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage.
I’ve been fortunate to drive many different Vantage varieties. That Vantage V12 S with the hood louvers was a stunner, making amazing noises. The 4.7-liter cars are a nice upgrade over the prior 4.3-liter V8 machines. The most recent iteration with its F1 edition is pretty sweet, too. None of them can match the performance, comfort, usability, and overall dynamic greatness of this latest Vantage.
The chassis is stiffer, yet it’s more comfortable. The infotainment finally works. That adjustable traction control system is perfectly calibrated to keep you from looping the rear end, yet the car continues to reward when you shut off all of the help.
The story with any Vantage is that it’s usually an also-ran to the competition. Yes, it’s lovely and makes tremendous noise, but it always loses in a handful of the categories in which we measure these things. This one here, however, closes those gaps and, in some cases, overshoots them in the right directions.
The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage is the best Vantage ever built.
