The 1967 Ford Mustang occupying a large portion of my garage has been sitting on jack stands for around a year and a half. Now, finally, I’ve set it back down on the ground. This big step for the project means we’re in the latter stages of the build.
Since posting this video, the Mustang has been put on a trailer bound for my local shop OC Cars. That’s the same shop where my Benz wagon lives, but we will worry about that another day. Today, it’s all about the Mustang.
Why is the Mustang heading to a shop? I don’t have the brain power to focus on finishing the wiring. The shop said they’d take care of it, and while the car sits there, it will also get fresh brake lines. A section of the front frame will get a patch, as well.
After I get the car back from the shop and order the parts required to swap the car to a hydraulic clutch setup, it’s time to assemble everything. That’s a crazy feeling. I could be driving this thing by the end of November, but that sounds ambitious. My goal has long been to fire the car before Christmas and I think we’re on track to do just that.

Nice choice of beer! Pliny is always good.
next time you’re up around Riverside area, let me know. I work at a small brewery and would love to treat you to a beer!
Love the coupe! always has been my favorite Mustang.
Awesome! Which brewery? Email me at Je**@********se.com if you don’t want to say it here.
All Points Brewery – off the 215 in Riverside.
on the few occasions i’ve had an engine out of a car, getting it to run typically precedes driving it by less than a week.
so i agree, keep your goal as having it running by december. as soon as you have that, you’ll find that your problems are not as big as you think, and that your standards of quality have dropped dramatically. you’ll be doing 75 by february.
I am in the process of ordering the clutch kit components. So after that arrives, and the car is back from wiring, it’s essentially go time… WOO!
