Recently, I shared a video showing a smart Lego builder and their amazing work. The finished product was a scale, automated factory capable of churning out a small car. It’s an impressive feat of Lego engineering. That builder, Banana Gear Studios, has upped the ante, however, and the factory is now capable of building three separate vehicles on the same assembly line.
To set the factory up for success, it required a bit more strength to mitigate side-to-side movement. The builder then had to devise a method of supplying the different parts for the different vehicles. A few options were developed, but the final method turned out to be a rotating platform that could talk to the controller in the factory, swing into place when ready, and be locked down to make sure pieces were where the arm expects them to be.
Once again, this builder has delivered on a pretty amazing-scale creation. It’s an automated factory that creates different car models. There are clearly limitations as to the type and size of the vehicles it can create, but I’m still wildly impressed at what it can do at this level.
I hope Banana Gear Studios keeps tinkering and improving this creation.
