  1. That’s a pretty dang amazing level of commitment, but I wonder if it wouldn’t fit diagonally.
Wait, I figured it out, it’s a tailgate theft prevention device.

    1. Certainly it is antitheft if the linkage between the handle and the passenger side latch was severed. You have to be able to open the tailgate to steal it.

    2. Fitting them in diagonally pretty much wipes out most of the useful space in the bed. You’re left with two narrow triangles. I’ll bet this guy has every inch of the bed planned out for carrying his motocross support gear.

  2. Took this pic of half my family’s fleet today, just because I find the size difference between my sister’s and dad’s trucks comical.

  3. Marto’s proposed ‘Law of Hooniverse comment irrelevance’ (Lohci):
The longer a comment string on a specific topic requiring objective knowledge becomes, the more likely it is that later comments will be subjective opinion on an increasingly broad interpretation of the topic’s theme.
Example Hooniverse question: They were nearly identical triplets, but do you know the main engineering differences between the Toyota Aygo, Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107?
45 comments later…: “They have better styling, but I don’t trust European cars after my uncle crashed his 2001 S-Class on the I-85.”

    1. I changed the rear diff fluid on my sister’s CR-V last night. Man, that stuff is way more viscous than I expected. Wait… Hooniverse comments are supposed to be relevant to something?

  4. Another tailgate for that truck will probably cost under $75 at a junkyard. I think this is a very cheap and effective solution. Tailgate takes 2-3 minutes to switch. Simple.

  5. Seems like a leaving the gate down & one of those net gates would have been at least as effective, not to mention a hell of a lot easier.
