Last Call: I want to be here with this car

By Jeff Glucker Mar 23, 2021

Jon Sibal is easily one of the best artists (or car-tists, ha) on Instagram. His work always impresses. Today, he posted this absolutely wonderful image of a perfectly liveried-up R32 Skyline on a road with Cherry Blossoms dropping their lovely leaves/flowers. It’s a gorgeous scene set by Sibal… and I want to be there in that moment.

Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

  1. I used to live across the road from one of Toronto’s biggest parks, and for about a week every April, I pretty much couldn’t find parking because the neighborhood was overrun with visitors to see the cherry blossoms coming in.

I wouldn’t have been as annoyed if that Skyline (any R32, really) took my spot.

  2. I finally tested Gran Turismo on my son’s PS4 yesterday and they have a photo option like that (I know, I’m an eon late). Selected my region, Hordaland, and couldn’t believe how much at home this felt. I honestly need to check where exactly these photos were made.

On a meta level: Since the comment-o-calypse, the Hooniverse has been loading really slow for me. Kind of a double strike. Anyone else experiencing this?

  3. I look at this and think “I bet that would look much better without all the graphics.” Yeah, I get that the graphics are the point.
