Hooniverse Weekend Edition – The World's Ugliest Beach Buggy

By Jim Brennan Jan 8, 2011

Welcome to another Hooniverse Weekend. I received this tip about the World’s Ugliest Dune Buggy, powered by a Renault Engine. See if you agree.

The listing is a little cheeky, so why not let it do the talking:

This was a street legal buggy in the 60’s .it is mechanically complete, with no knowledge of what works or does not work. frame was cut to shorten bugy, but all parts are stock. parts only car no paperwork still has CA black plates.

Yes, it is the ugliest thing on wheels. bids in region of a million dollars for this desirable “only one in the world” car , will be favourably considered lol…. can deliver for agreed price at time of sale

This is a classified ad type of listing, and the seller wants $750 for it. Is it something worth considering? I see a potentially IOE winning 24 Hours of LeMons entry, just in case you were wondering….. See the Ebay Listing here.

  1. I don't even think LeMons would allow that thing on a track.
Could make an excellent JudgeMobile though.

  2. Some say it was made by a Wine-O in California, and that a Renault Dauphine has a perfectly acceptable engine for a Dune Buggy… All we know is IT'S SPEED BUGGY'S RETARDED BROTHER!!

  3. It's really not all that ugly unless you look at it.
I'm digging it. If it were able to be re-registered with the same plates, It would be REAL tempting. I could make the wife park her car down the street and free up some space….
