The Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser is an iconic piece of Americana that is easily recognizable as a milestone vehicle today. There may have been other wagons through this time period that sold in greater numbers, buy none were more memorable. And that is really a very sad thing when it comes to our next featured wagon because it had all the styling hallmarks of the Vista Cruiser, including the “Vista” Roof Windows. Presenting a very well maintained 1969 Buick Skylark Sport Wagon, the other “Vista Cruiser”… According to the Craigslist Listing,
1969 Buick Skylark sports wagon 400. The actual color is TRUMPET GOLD, not yellow. Automatic, A/C, new exhaust, new tires and sports rims. The back window manually rolls down, the back also has a step to get into the back. It has a jack, see pic. Has been undercoated for rust protection by Zebart in Indianapolis, IN. Back gate also drops down and is hinged to open like a door. Very convenient! It is a 2 bench seats, not 3. This is original. Runs great, looks great. This car was originally bought new in Florida, then purchased from their son to go to Virginia, then, I bought it in 2007 and it is now in Indiana. I am only selling it because we are moving. I have all the paperwork, and it has been maintained.
I was a bit surprised about the fact that this wagon has only two bench seats, and not three. I thought all Sport Wagons (and Vista Cruisers) were three-seat wagons, so you learn something new everyday. The asking pricefor this Buick is $14,500, which seems OK, but there is very little information to gauge the actual value… Like mileage, whether or not items are in working order, tire wear, etc… Why not take a look at the Indianapolis Craigslist listing here, and tell me if this Buick of Vista Cruisers is really all that.
