It’s Friday so it’s time to dive into a bit of Fantasy. This week I’m in love with the idea of putting an old truck in my fantasy driveway. I just spent a week with a 2015 GMC Sierra Denali 2500 HD, so I figured I’d check out a bit of that beasts lineage. While the new Sierra is a mighty impressive machine, there’s something wonderful about old trucks. An older pickup looks just as good clean as it does with the scars of a working life. Some may even prefer the latter, and I would be happy with either. In my Craigslist adventures, however, I’ve come across the former… and she’s a beauty. 
This is a 1954 GMC pickup with tons of glass occupying the cabin. Everything on this old truck looks lovely, from the curves of the oversize fenders to the wood in the bed. It’s no slouch either, thanks to the more modern 350 that’s been swapped in and paired with an updated automatic gearbox. Some might scoff at the application of updated running gear here, but I’d be quite happy to cruise comfortably at highway speeds. The only thing I’d want to change is the color, but even that two-tone paintwork looks quite nice here. I would be inclined to change up the color scheme, but I’d probably change my mind once I’d lived with the truck for a bit and had grown accustomed to the existing colors. Up for sale is my 1954 GMC 5-window truck. It’s been completely restored and has a great original look to it but with many modern upgrades. The body was brought down to metal. It has very clean lines and has been painted with a beautiful two tone: key lime and black.

It’s no small sum of money, but the truck appears to be in excellent shape. Additionally, the price of old trucks seems to be steadily rising.
