The World’s Worst Car Is For Sale On Craigslist

Welcome to Craigslist Crapshoot, our weekly search for the most bizarre, awesome, and/or terrible vehicles that the online classifieds has to offer.

All-Wheel Drive. Sounds sexy, doesn’t it? When it comes to cars it’s frequently a deal-maker too, and who remembered there were so dang many cars that offered two-axle traction? The winner of last week’s quest will be forthcoming presently, but first, this week’s business.

Last week’s quarry was intended for inclement weather, mostly for driving in the wet. But what about the other elements, specifically fire? This week, I want you to find us some cool Firebirds, the more outrageous the better. Pontiac’s pony car often played second fiddle to Chevy’s Camaro – at least outside of Smokey and the Bandit – so let’s give the bird some love, shall we?

As always, we want your finds to go down in infamy and not in the site’s spam filter. Follow any of the following advice and you’re crap will be known far and wide.

  1. Easiest way to not get caught in the spam filters is to create an IntenseDebate account. If you do so and your posts aren’t appearing, let us know at tips@hooniverse.info and we can put you on the whitelist
  2. If you don’t want an IDC account, you can create a wordpress.com account and do the same thing.
  3. If you’re the Ted Kaczynski type and don’t want any kind of account, then try to place only a single link in a comment and just drop any outgoing link in via its raw URL and not as a text link.

If you’ve got that all down, then jump down to the rest of the post and see the four-by-four for you.

As I noted above, there sure have been a butt-load of AWD cars sold around the globe, and there remains a lot on the used market, even when you exclude the traditional players- Audi and Subaru. In fact, last week’s contest was like a trip down failing memory lane as there were a ton of cars that I at least had totally forgotten were offered with the ability to spin all their meats. One that I do remember, and always think of as the last really weirdly-cool Corolla was the All-Trac wagon. That A4-powered soft-roader predated Subaru’s Legacy-based Outback, but was similarly outfitted with a jacked-up suspension and chunkier grille. This ’89 found by Maymar is not only a great example, it’s also an JDM machine, brought over to looks-the-other-way Canada by a private individual. At $2,300 Canadian, it looks to be pretty good deal, especially for a postal worker who has trouble separating their work and personal life. Way to go, Maymar!     http---www.autotrader.ca-a-Toyota-Corolla-Craigslist Crapshoot
