Classic Captions – The 1993 Jeep Wrangler Convertible Edition

14340227036_d7db59bda1_h Welcome to the Hooniverse Classic Captions Post, and once again, it’s that time of the week in which this feature appears, so let’s review the premise; I search for images that were used by the car companies in their print advertising or brochures, and it is your job to provide a humorous caption that is some how tied in with the image. This week I have decided to raid Alden Jewell’s Flickr Photostream again, with this very interesting couple behind a Jeep Wrangler, but we will get to that image in a few… Tanshomi Images-001 Last time, we had an image of a Corvair Convertible with a couple pondering where to go, and it was the second time I used an image this large, which unfortunately enhanced some of the detail that was best left alone, and it didn’t escape your attention either. Most of the entries ignored that particular detail, and were somehow still funny. The runner-up comment was from PotbellyJoe ❤❤❤❤♡, who tied in the Corvair theme nicely: “Careful Bill, she’s unsafe at any speed..” Very funny PotbellyJoe ❤❤❤❤♡, but there was one comment that was the overwhelming favorite this time. And the winning comment came from Irishzombieman☆, with a picture of Jonny Carson as Carnac the Magnificent (Yes, once again) and with a caption that could have been straight from that classic comedy bit: “My ’66 Corvair, and my assistant Tina… zzziiiiipppp. Name two things with powerful rear ends.” Ah yes,, that old Carson bit never gets old, does it? This was excellent so well done Irishzombieman☆ on winning the classic caption contest this time. Carnac It’s now time to take a look at this weeks entry, and yes I have raided Alden Jewells Stash of images yet again (since he has a fresh batch, so why the hell not?). This is an image for the 1993 Jeep Wrangler Convertible, with a very heppy young couple behind the Jeep. The original ad exclaimed “Real Juice, Without the Squeeze”. So, what the hell is that suppose to mean? The Ad-Men at Chrysler was trying to tell you that the Wrangler was all of that for under $11,000. What they didn’t tell you was the fact that a top was not part of the package, nor was those snazzy Alloy Wheels, nor were those White Lettered Tires… What is very unusual in my mind is what she is wearing… I don’t think I have ever witnessed a female in Cowboy Boots trimmed in Sterling Silver toe and heel ornaments! (You can click here to see the full size image) You have the next five days to come up with a great caption. The editors will deliberate on the merits of each entry, and after contemplating our own caption (You know, I could sport a pair of boots like that…), we will pronounce a winner. So, get to work and create you’re own caption for this rather unusual image. Photo Credit: Alden Jewell’s Flickr Photostream
