2025 Bathurst 1000 is More Proof that Supercars is Best Racing Series on the Planet

When a 621-mile race comes down to the last ten laps, you know you’re watching something special. It was Chevrolet vs Ford in a street fight in the rain. And it was exceptional. The racing only got more intense with ten laps remaining, as the weather and visibility continued to decline up on Mount Panorama.

If you’re a fan of motorsports, this video is definitely worth watching. I guarantee this clip is more exciting than any event you’ve sat through on the F1 calendar over the course of the last five years. Supercars are what NASCAR should strive to be like. And the 2025 Bathurst 1000 was one for the books.

  1. Holy crap – that had me locked in the entire time! 620 miles and the top 5 were within 10 seconds or so?

Thanks Jeff – that was a great watch

  2. The rain saved the race, and the drivers at the end did amazing things, pushing on the edge of disaster in treacherous conditions and getting away with quite a few moments beyond. Golding got a bit impatient with his pass attempt on Murray at turn 2 – any of the top 4 could have won had the cards fallen their way.

Credit too to WAU for diagnosing and changing a crank position sensor after the car crawled back into the pits with 25 laps to go sounding horrible, so Wood got a few championship points to make the finals top 10. If the team had not fought for half an hour (dropping 12 laps) he would have been 12th instead of 9th.

Note the close finish is always influenced by late safety cars compressing the field, but this was probably the closest ever. Fridays qualifying had the top six within a tenth of a second on a two minute lap.

    1. Yeah the move on Murray was unfortunate, but the saves were unreal. Keeping those cars pointing straight in that weather is amazing work.
