While casually browsing the book of faces the other I came upon this Ford Bronco with a set of Ford Raptor wheels and tires on it. Cool, off-set seemed a bit off, but I was surprised that they fit. Then I looked at other pictures of this Bronco, and holy potatoes, this is a Bronco body on a shortened Raptor frame!
From the FB post:

Van from Tumblin Automotive brought his latest bronco project up to us to tune. All I can say is this truck is amazing. He put a 93 bronco body on a shortened 2011 Raptor frame. The metal work on this truck is insane. Then he custom fit the entire raptor interior in the truck The hidden winch behind the bumper is a nice touch.

That’s incredible!

This space was previously occupied by either a 4.9-liter in-line six, a 302 V8, or a 351 V8. I’d imagine there was a lot of trimming of the body involved to make it fit around the engine.

Look at that, full Raptor interior including seats and door panels. It looks like it fits really well, too.

Given that the frame, engine, and interior is swapped straight over, I would imagine that all the factory electronics work too.

Nicely integrated winch. What’s that dude doing? Licking it? I would.

I’m shocked by how clean this looks.

I’m not a big fan of fender flares, but slightly wider OEM-ish looking flares would look good here. Given how wide the F-150 Raptor is, I’m surprised to see that the wheels stick out only this much from the body.

      1. [with it]
He didn't get away. They caught him. They just let him go after that. But he was initially apprehended.

  1. I had like 15 people on my book of faces feed go all fangirl over an article, written by Borat, that stole some old photos of a Bronco concept that Ford did a while back stating something like, "It is the American as legend to return! By Ford of America!!!"
Everyone wanted it to be true. Ford, people want this. You can make it from the parts bin. Cancel one of your four CUV's and get on it.

  2. First, why….then..how is this better than a Raptor?
I am guessing the former Raptor was considered joint property in someones divorce. The guy couldn't stomach the idea of his ex getting the proceeds of its sale, so he disassembled it, and dropped off the bare cab (with the VIN) and title on her door step. He then took all the parts and built this out of his clapped out Bronco.

  3. If it drives like a Raptor and it feels like you're sitting in one then what's the point? At least put some flares on it to hide the ridiculously wide axles.

  4. Braptor!
My sister had a ~90-something Bronco for a while. With the H.O. 351 had some serious grunt. For whatever reason it felt about a foot wider than the contemporary F-series, despite being the same. Damn…now I'm kinda…fine! off to craigslist…

    1. You don't notice the width of an F-150 compared to a Bronco because the F-150 is so much longer (even a RCSB). The Bronco is proportionally wider because it's only about as long as a compact car.

  5. '93 Bronco on a Raptor frame? Cool.
'93 Bronco on a Raptor frame with the Raptor interior, while looking stock? Very Impressive. Extra Points in my book.

  6. It's all the technology you want from a Raptor, without the modern vehicle LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME WHY AREN'T YOU LOOKING AT ME LOOK AT ME problem!

  7. I love this. This guy knew exactly what he wanted and he got it done. I'd take this over a stock raptor any day.

  8. At the risk of beating the dead horse, but does "shortened frame" mean "Bent part of frame removed?" This seems like the perfect re-purposing of a thusly wrecked Raptor.

  9. I'm taken aback by how well the door cards integrate with the legal drinking age doors.
Are those the new BFG A/T ko2 tires?

  10. Wow. Having formerly owned a '95 F-150, I look at those door trim panels installed on those '93 doors, and I'm just amazed. The way the top corners of the panel look, it's just like the originals. And the dash? Damn. There's a lot of engineering and fabrication work here. And yeah, I agree, some kind of flares would look good here. Sure, offroading is going to sling dirt and mud on the body, but a set of flares would minimize it, and protect the paint.
I imagine there are plenty of wrecked Raptors out there; you'd just have to make sure you trammel the frame, to make it's straight, and also carefully check the suspension and rear axle for damage.
