1967 International Scout RC truck made of wood

No, the whole truck isn’t made out of wood, that would be impossible. But the body is, and it has some fantastic patina and original details on it. Check out the video and make one for yourself! It’s easy, just follow these easy steps…
Thanks for the tip, Mike!

  1. Seems to have the power-to-weight ratio of an early Scout!
I thought it might be a Champagne Series based on this old advertisement, but the Champagne was a Scout 80 doll-up and this is an 800. (I think the Champagne celebrated a certain production number being passed; I’ll bow to Scoudude‘s knowledge on that one.)

    1. It was the RCS or Red Carpet Series that commemorated the first 100,000 Scouts sold. It was the first “Doll Up” Scout and showed IH that people would pay a reasonable premium for a fancy 4×4 so the Sport Top, Champagne, Aristocrat, SR2 and Comanche 800’s followed.
For those non-IH people on the LST or Line Set Ticket which told the assembly line which components to use was rubber stamped with “Doll Up Scout” if it was one of the special packages. For you young-un’s back in the day a woman getting dressed up in her finest was said to be all Dolled-Up. Why they decided to use that to refer to the special packages or who came up with that has been lost to time.

  2. Ok now that I’ve had time to watch the entire video I just have to say wow what an incredible creation. I can’t imagine just how many hours went into building it.
