Watch this truck try to drive on 20-FOOT WHEELS

By Jeff Glucker Jan 9, 2020

Remember when 20-inch wheels were a measure of cool for some? The delightfully insane people behind the WhistlinDiesel YouTube channel might, but they’re all about ramping things up… way up. Like, 20-feet up.

The truck in the video above is fitted with twenty-foot wheels. The host of the channel references being impressed years back when Bigfoot rolled out on 10-foot wheels. This is doubly cool. But it’s also wild, because the wheels here are made mostly from wood. And 70-pounds of lag bolts. Oh, and all the steel for bracketing and bolting this monster hoops to the widened hubs.

To get the truck setup, the team build a pair of trenches then drive the truck to the central portion between the trenches. Once there, the truck is jacked up and the regular wheels and tires are removed. With the help of an excavator, the massive wagon wheels are brought in place and then bolted on.

The truck tries to get moving on its own power. But the rotating mass (and flat wheel bottoms) prove to be a bit much. The driveshaft is twisted and then snapped clean off. A second driveshaft is at the ready. This one is bolted in and then the truck is roped to another truck so it can get some help rolling.

What happens next? I’ll let you see that bit for yourself.

This is incredibly sketchy and supremely entertaining. Cheers to the mad lads at WhistlinDiesel!

      1. Must admit I didn’t actually watch it, so thanks for validating that decision! Life is too short sometimes

  1. Like the mini-stonehenge stage prop in ‘Spinal Tap’, where the ‘ and ” symbols get mixed up.

“No I said 20 INCH wheels”
