Video: Ferdinand Ice Festival 2013 brings weather-proof hoons together

I’ve always imagined that if you grew up in Norway, you are impervious to all things cold. I now have proof, thanks to Fredrik Videnes and his video coverage of the 2013 Ferdinand Ice Festival. On a frozen lake in Drevsjø, Norway, a track is cleared and vehicles of all sort are let loose on the slick pathway. No, it’s not just ratty Subaru Imprezas but everything from a Nissan GT-R, all means of Porsche, a Lamborghini Gallardo and Aston Martin Vantage to, well, a few Subarus and one clearly insane two-wheel-riding maniac.

Click past the break for a look at an event that just got added to our MUST ATTEND list for 2014.

While playing in an empty snowy parking lot the other night I was thinking to myself "wouldn't it be nice if I had somewhere to go ice racing. It's a shame I moved so far south that the rivers/lakes don't freeze well enough to drive a truck on…"
Then you go and post this, and I look outside and it is snowing again…I'm going to go snow drifting. I just wish my truck were turbo and had a stupid loud blow off valve so I could have accompanying rally style sound track.

Great googly moogly. I can't imagine anything more fun than driving my ratty Impreza there.
BTW, you forgot to mention the Fisker!

I can't imagine what a handful a torquey, heavy sled of a car thaf Fisker is must be on the ice.
