The Nürburgring is honoring Queen of the ‘Ring Sabine Schmitz. Turn One of the iconic Green Hell will now be known as Sabine Schmitz Kurve. It’s a wonderful tribute to an amazing person who helped push the ‘Ring into the global eye. Her appearances on Top Gear combined with her skill as both a race car driver and ‘Ring Taxi hustle machine elevated her name to legend status amongst those that hold the German circuit in high regard.
Schmitz passed away in March 2021 at the age of 51. She left this world far too early. And now her name will be spoken for decades to come at one of the most challenging places to drive at speed on the planet.
