For today’s Truck Thursday contribution from up here in the slushy north, I bring you this 1985 Chevrolet C/K. It’s a Silverado specification with the 6.2-litre Detroit Diesel, so certainly worthy. All of the chrome on it looks so good, even if it stands out well enough by itself.
The 1985-1987 edition of the big diesel V8 churned out 148 hp and 246 lb ft of torque, or 334 Nm in metric.
In my mind, the white bed cover is a perfect match to the navy blue paint. The truck looks just right as it is.

Agreed, keep the truck the way it is.

No changes.. to how it looks but I’d do a lbz duramax swap to get rid of the 6.2. I had one and on the cold winter months the glow plugs like to do a little dance and disappearing act but always random and always when it was -20°c. At least walking got me warmed up.

My dad had a Suburban with the 6.2 diesel in it. Decent mileage, but woefully underpowered/

Nowadays many people [in the U.S.] seem to think diesels are exclusively for
towing/hauling heavy loads, but when GM brought out the 6.2 the idea
was to bring an engine to market that could compete for mileage and not for
towing/hauling ability. -
As I’ve said a number of times before, I soooooo want to put one of those 6.2L Detroit diesels in a derelict Jag XJS.
