The Polestar 1 is a very interesting vehicle in a sort of concept car for the road sort of way. It’s expensive but also eye-catching and an enjoyable driving experience. With the Polestar 2, we have a much more mainstream offering that could get buyers into the brand. Moving forward though, it’s likely that Polestar 3 could be the vehicle capturing quite a bit more attention from shoppers. That’s because this one will be an electric SUV and judging by the teaser image, it could be a damn-fine-looking one at that.
This is a vehicle that will be built here in America (as well as globally). Volvo has a manufacturing facility in South Carolina, and Polestar products built there are destined for our market. The automaker says Polestar 3 will enter production globally sometime in 2022. And more info should be available soon.
For now, though, I have to say I’m rather intrigued to see what’s under that sheet. The Polestar 3 has some strong-looking lines on display. Hopefully, the sheet-pull moment provides a visual payoff.
This looks like it could be a vert nice vehicle. We’ll have to stay tuned to see what it looks like.
I was kind of disappointed with the looks of the 2, so I won’t hold my breath: Mach-E with cameras for rear view mirrors incoming? Not a bad thing, but nothing that will coerce me into their experience spheres or whatever they call their showrooms.
I agree– the Polestar 2 was a letdown, visually-speaking. I’m not sure of the right word, but it was just too “sanitary”. As if Volvo designed a car and then let Apple finish it. It’s clean and tidy, just not interesting.
I’m worried that despite the nice silhouette, the 3 is going to be similarly bland when the sheet’s pulled off.
