You’d be hard-pressed to find a group of enthusiasts who better exemplify Hooniverse’s central mission statement than Charnal House Racing. We’ve shown you their work here before: junkyard aficionado and fiction writer Crab Spirits turned a Honda CBR engine and a Subaru 360 into a “Rolex watch made out of garbage.” The Charnal House crew includes Crab and several others and their most recent epic build, which joins the stable of the now-twin-turbo Geo MetSHO 24 Hours of LeMons racer, is a most-peculiar LS swap. There’s no General Motors in this car at all; instead, their newest drift-car project is a Lincon LS with a turbocharger slapped on the 1UZ-FE V8 from a Lexus LS400. The build has been painstaking—read through the build thread on Ziptied.com for the particulars—but the LS-swapped LS has a running engine at last. That sounds pretty dang good, doesn’t it?

“…Roadkill is all ‘look at the fancy parts our sponsors gave us that we’re going to put on this shit pile we bought’; Charnal House is all like ‘here’s how we built a quickspool valve with a machete and rivets’”

Huge bonus points for combining an LS with an LS but not an LS!

i read through that entire build thread. MAN that sounds like an ordeal. on top of all the mechanical struggles, there’s lots of property damage drama. i would have just given up and bought a Corolla and cried all day until i died.
