You know I love the Aston Martin brand. I’ve been fortunate to drive pretty much every vehicle they produce in a variety of driving situations. It’s not a stretch to say that I’ve become quite acquainted with what’s possible when behind the wheel of an Aston Martin vehicle.
Well, there’s a new Aston Martin model… and it should warp anything that I thought was possible when piloting a machine wearing the AM wings. It’s called the Aston Martin Vulcan, and it’s here to steal your heart while devouring your soul.

The Vulcan is a track-only super exotic that will be produced in supremely limited numbers. Precisely 24 examples will be and sold to customers around the globe. Those 24 owners will have access to a 7.0-liter V12 engine that produces over 800 horsepower. All of that power won’t have much weight to toss around thanks to the very liberal application of carbon fiber. In fact both the body and the monocoque are constructed from the lightweight yet ultra strong material.
So we have a racing vehicle here. That’s further exemplified by the mid-front engine placement and the rear-wheel-drive layout. Additionally, the suspension sounds like a thing of beauty. It’s a pushrod setup complete with anti-dive geometry, anti-roll bars, and adjustable suspension damping. More importantly, the car employs dynamic suspension spool valve technology which is essentially what can be found on the highest levels of motorsports. The only other road cars to utilize this type of suspension? The Aston Martin One-77 and, believe it or not, the Camaro Z/28.

Aston Martin isn’t simply going to let the new owners loose in their latest insane-o machine. Instead, the new lucky sons of bitches owners will be able to put themselves and a variety of Aston Martin cars through their paces. A cadre of top-flight motorsports instructors, including Le Mans winner Darren Turner, will avail themselves to the drivers.
They’ll start with the V12 Vantage S before jumping up to the One-77. From there, the drivers will move to the Vantage GT4 race car to build up more in-seat experience before ultimately arriving at their new prized track day lap-record-wrecking possession.

There’s no word yet on pricing, but just look at this damn beautiful, angry, wonderful thing that is now a part of the world we live in. My guess? We’re dealing with at least a million bucks worth of Aston Martin glory here.
So with that, world… say hello to the Aston Martin Vulcan.
