The Gambler 500 gets underway this June. And I’m jealous I can’t be a part of the insanity. Especially when amazing stuff like this Roadmaster are going to attend.
Also, keep an eye out for the Head Gambler man on the next episode of Shift Talkers. He’s the best maniac out there.
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.
That Roadmaster is gorgeous, so is the lack of hæshtæg overlænding.
Just now, I noticed how I got “marked as spam” on my first device. I keep clicking the upward thumb just to know which comments I have already read. Doing so on the News-thread, I ended up with this:

Which my phone marked as spam, that leaves 1 PC where I can still continue to visit the Hooniverse as a guest. Still haven’t seen fresh feedback on the planned progress on a new comment system, and I would greatly appreciate to see some words on that.
I tried responding a few times with words of encouragement, but kept getting marked as spam.
Sounds funny, I know, but it is also true.
weird, I will make sure stuff isn’t getting trapped
And when the Buick saw the breadth of roads it had traveled, it wept, for there were no more roads to master. So I suppose mastering the off-road is the next natural step.
And so the Road Master became the Rubble Bubble.
That is absolutely fantastic. I almost bought an Olds wagon of that vintage years ago when my first son was born (it seemed like a completely practical choice for a new-father Hoon), and I’ve been tempted to get one ever since. The extra lift and AT tires makes it that much better. No sarcasm here– I love it.
My wife thinks getting rid of the E28 ended this madness? Just wait until I propose something like this as a replacement…
16 year old me really wanted an olds custom cruiser as a first car. Nothing like a corvette engine to make a wagon interesting
Yes! It was a blue Custom Cruiser with blue interior that I test-drove with my new offspring strapped in his car seat in the back. It was like driving a comfortable living room. All it needed was an LS and some rims/tires to be awesome. My wife thought I was nuts and quickly vetoed the idea. At the time I was DD’ing a Contour SVT, and the back seat was too tight to get him in and out. We ended up with a minivan instead. 🙁
The Gambler 500 sounds like an exciting event! It must be disappointing to miss out on all the insanity and amazing vehicles like the Roadmaster
