Since this is April, and the Spring Flowers are just starting to show, my thoughts about what to post during this weekend centered around the flower…. specifically the flower children of the 70s. And what mode of transportation defined the 70s flower children was the early forward control Vans from Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge. This was a time of discovery, with an unpopular war, free love, psychedelic rock, and lots of drugs.
With that in mind, lets start the Hooniverse Van-Tastic Weekend, in which we discover the early vans of that time (and some later ones for good measure) as see if they would fit in with today’s ever stringent nanny state. And what better way to start than with this video…..

I've always strongly preferred this cover version – plus it just seems more Hoontastic somehow.

I'm looking forward to this weekend feature. It probably won't help my irrational desire for a Brubaker Box, but that's all right with me.-
The early Ford Econoline always brings this song to mind. The cover art used to show up on my Walkman when I had this on it.
