For this episode of the Hooniverse Podcast, novelty and improvement are strange bedfellows.
Most of the time you get one or the other. And improvement might just mean a bump in short term revenue or stock price bump.
A new AND better experience for you?
Those are the rare ones.
Here’s some new things we’ve seen lately. You decide what kind of an improvement they are.
New and Improved – or is it?
Dan and Ross start with the story of a hard lesson about a soft drink, when new and improved lost out to old and familiar. And that sets the mood for our theme: New and Imrproved, or Is It?”
We take a look at how old nameplates are being put to use on new models in completely different market segments than the “classics.” Think about the Chevrolet Blazer and Trailblazer, and where the Nissan GT-R name might end up, for instance. Stellantis is still pretty new as automotive conglomerates go, and it sure could use some improvement, so we imagine how we might clean things up over there. And we saved our hottest takes for last, to ponder whether the Tesla “We, Robot” event showed off anything serious, and if we really want to live in that version of the future that’s so stuck in the past.
Once again, we thank you all for listening. We would love to hear your comments, criticism, and feedback, and we look forward to bringing you more of our debauchery in the coming weeks.
