Before you answer “there are no good tattoos at all” just put that answer aside for now. I want to hear or see some good car-themed tattoos. The example in the lead image is obviously the opposite of that, as it’s an alternator and not a turbocharger as the recipient had hoped for.
So what are some good car-themed tattoos? What would make for a good car-themed tattoo if you haven’t seen it done yet? Sound off and share pics in the comments below.
People have unusually strong opinions on the concept of tattoos on the internet, I haven’t figured out why. I find them interesting enough on other people, but in the best case, they are like art that you carry around with you all the time. I can’t think of anything (much less automotive related) that would remotely qualify. Maybe something semi-abstract that is a good bit of visual/graphic design that didn’t come loaded with other connotations, but even then only on someone else.
Maybe ponytailed Kyle Petty circa 1995…
That is, a portrait of Kyle Petty, not that tattoos only look good on 1995 Kyle Petty, if that wasn’t clear.
Butthead wanted a tattoo of a butt with a butt tattoo tattooed onto his butt.
There’s also a fad where truck owners airbrush their tailgate with a scene of that truck in a favorite setting.

How about a tat of a truck with a butt airbrushed on the tailgate? The butt on the tailgate would have a truck tattooed on it. Get it on your butt, of course.
When you go into the tailgate, time slows down, so you can get all the custom work done.
…
Sorry but no. The correct answer can not be put aside. Get it on a t-shirt and rotate it with your other inventory.
