Four classic Minis battle it out at the Goodwood Member’s Meeting

classic mini race at goodwood member's meeting

Goodwood’s 77th Member’s Meeting was this past weekend. As you can imagine, the old-school action was thrilling for those in attendance. It’s thrilling for all of us really, because Goodwood does a great job of getting this vintage auto action out on the Internet. Case in point is a mega battle amongst mini machines. A quartet of classic Mini racers dance through a final lap in a battle to nab the top podium spot.

The drivers are just slinging these little beasties through the turns. Wheels are lifting. Curbs are attacked. Body panels are shimmying and holding on, only just. Nick Swift holds on and puts the pressure on Padmore, who held the lead for a bit until a mistake right at the end of the run.

This Mini battle royale is just one of the many examples of all that make Goodwood a glorious event.

  1. Would love to have a go at making one of those things slide like that, or rather, would like to have the money, time and facilities available to practice until I could.

    1. Yes, and the Goodwood track is not exactly the best place to learn – lots of fences etc ready to punish a mistake. These guys are at the top of their game.

  2. it’s obvious, but goodwood events are awesome. I really have to start planning (and saving) so I can enjoy it live in the near future

  3. I’ve started semi-seriously thinking about trying to buy a classic Mini. They just look like such an absolute riot.
