There are several things that make my heart flutter: Citroëns, utes, and one-off cars. I think I just found the Holy Grail. Hoons, I present to you, this inexplicable beast.
My taste in cars is admittedly a bit perverse, and this… thing is something else entirely. Ute conversions are certainly nothing new, though it’s not often that one sees it done to a Citroën. Seeing this just might send some people in Saint-Ouen into shock.
Unfortunately, there is no indication of what shape the mechanicals are in. While Citroëns are fairly reliable when in good order, should something go wrong… well, I just hope you have Jacque on speed dial. [Ed. Note – Or just call Chris and his Dad]
As per the ad:
For sale a Citroen DS 2 liter
75000 original miles, 2 owners,
very good shape, I restored it first time original, then modified it as a top chopped pick up. I’ll remove the lettering for the sale, and the registration is in process and will be done.
It’s not perfect, but given some love, this could become something truly awesome. With some modification, I could see this making deliveries for a French car mechanic an awesome business of some sort.

Make offer, eh?
NICE PRICE
All the other Kustoms seem to be keeping their distance. Perhaps for fear that this guy's laboriously applied "Crappy Looking" patina will be more "Crappy Looking" than theirs, thereby making them look "Less Crappy" (!) in comparison. Heaven forfend.
I'm conteplating the irony of a powerful rearward facing spotlight that blocks rearward vision.
It's for tailgaters.
Needs more Maserati in the engine bay.

What is the matter with that tow bar? Want to know the story.
I'm pretty sure it is just a gooseneck trailer. http://www.infoweb.nl/smworld/achievem3.htm
Ah! And I just thought it was a duckbill's leftover-welding accident. Pretty cool with a hydraulic trailer.
Also, the trailer has DS spheres/hydraulics. Of course it does.
Needs Crewcab and moar wheels

And a higher roof so it can fit non-midgets.
I need that to go with the Shrine Temple Clown Unit Metropolitan! That would keep the neighbors guessing….
Interesting how the proportions change entirely between the first and second shot. It looks short in the first image, but retains some of the elegant looks of an old boat in the second.
That said, the DS is imho such a perfect and well-balanced design that any messing with it is…well, messing with it.
Sorry but the Black Crown Victoria in the back ground of the first pic and the Mercury wagon and Buick Special/Skylark in the background of the second pic do more for me.
When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now
each time a comment is added I get three emails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Many thanks!
A motivating discussion is worth comment.
I believe that you ought to write more on this issue,
it might not be a taboo subject but typically folks don’t
talk about these topics. To the next! All the best!!
