“F1” Movie Teaser Drops, Actually Looks Pretty Great

The first teaser for “F1” has landed, and it shows a lot of promise. The movie stars Brad Pitt, and the story surrounds him coming out of retirement to return to the sport and mentor an up-and-coming driver in the process.

“F1” has many of the makings of a very solid film. On top of Brad Pitt as the lead actor, the movie was directed by Joseph Kosinski, whose recent accomplishments include the incredible “Top Gun: Maverick,” produced by Sir Lewis Hamilton, and written by Ehren Kruger (who penned “The Ring”). Other cast members are Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Javier Bardem, Kim Bodnia, Shea Whigham, Joseph Balderrama, Sarah Niles, Samson Kayo, and Callie Cook. Best of all, each and every current and active Formula 1 team and driver is in the movie in some capacity.

It’s no secret that “Drive to Survive” has been an enormous success, so it wasn’t going to be long until a media company capitalized on the fanfare in feature film format. This led Apple Films to step up to the plate, and the company has been filming and working on the project with the help of F1 itself, going so far as to allow (undoubtedly for a large sum of money) parts of the movie to be shot at the 2023 British Grand Prix. Given the sport’s lineage and UK-centric existence, it was perfect timing for the teaser trailer to be released just ahead of the 2024 British Grand Prix, a race which itself was utterly spectacular and saw Hamilton claim his 104th victory, coming at his last home race while driving for Mercedes.

Here’s our first look at “F1“:
