The Dodge Durango Hellcat is the best of the Hellcat bunch. It’s actually the one that makes the most sense. Albeit, in a group of vehicles that make little sense. That’s because it’s a seven-passenger SUV, which is comfortable, can tow 8,700 lbs, and also happens to have a 710-horsepower engine under the hood. Yes, S T E L L A N T I S continues to stick supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engines into anything it can. And this one here is AWD so it can rip from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds. That’s only a few tenths slower to 60 than the damned Shelby GT500.
And it’s not like this thing is a lightweight. It’s a physics-defying monster yet it’s also a bit of a sleeper… if you can ignore the noise it’s making for a quick second. Sure, it’s not cheap with a starting price of $82,000. But it’s also the one Hellcat machine that actually makes the most sense! Somehow…
[Disclaimer: Dodge tossed us the keys to the Durango Hellcat and included a full tank of fuel. We refilled that tank two more times in a week.]
