Baja Designs Lets There Be Light Where You Need Most

It’s rare for me to get excited about product innovation in the aftermarket space. Many companies have been doing the same thing for decades, because whatever they build works and customers buy their wares. Or a product comes along trying to “solve” a problem that doesn’t actually exist. Baja Designs, however, has me excited—because what seems like a simple idea is now available and real. Off-road desert rats can play pretend racers with the new Reflex Light Actuator.

Baja Designs has been in the off-road lighting game for more than three decades now. Many successful race teams run their products. One bit of tech employed by top-tier teams is the ability to adjust the pitch of their forward lighting on the fly. Now you can do the same, and it’s engineered as a bolt-on solution for existing Baja Designs lights.

The system works with the LP, XL, OnX, and S8 lights. Smaller lights need just one actuator per light, while light bars require a pair per unit. You can link multiple actuators together, and all of them can be controlled from a single switch. The system allows for up to 20 degrees of angle adjustment, which should be more than enough to see exactly what you need to see in front of you.

This is very cool tech for anyone running in very dark places at very high speeds. Nighttime desert racing is wild stuff—the dust and silt cause visual chaos ahead of you. Being able to adjust your lights on the fly is a huge advantage.
