A Falcon for Films

Australian friend of Hooniverse (AFOH) Mark Goddard continues to send excellent stuff from the land that brought you Midnight Oil. Side note, the lead singer of that band who was fairly frightening in the “Beds Are Burning” video is now a quite well-respected member of Parliament. He is the Minister for Environment Protection, Heritage, and the Arts.
What does that have to do with the Falcon above? It has celebrity ties yet it cares not for the environment.

I went to a local car display yesterday. A mate of mine had 5 Porsches on display, so I drove a 1968 911T to the show and a 944S2 back home. Even though I owned a 1973 911E for 11 years, I preferred the 944S2. I must be getting old. The usual Mustangs, Vettes & local cars were there, but this Falcon really caught my eye. I’m not a Nicole Kidman fan, despite having grown up a few streets from her home in Lane Cove, a Sydney suburb. Anyway, this Falcon has an interesting provenance. Aussie actor Bryan Brown, seen in “Cocktail”, “F/X” & “F/X2” among other films, has autographed under the bootlid while shooting “Dirty Deeds” with John Goodman. And a 351 in a sleeper like this – once the police signs are removed – has to be a hoon car. I’m sure the owner has been offered a truck load of cash for the number plate

Mark, you and your camera are always welcome in the Hooniverse. Thank you!

As an aside, I recommend the film "Dirty Deeds". Set in the late '60's, American mobsters try to muscle in on Aussie gangsters (Bryan Brown and Sam Neill), with occasionally hilarious and/or violent results. Features an ace soundtrack, provided by You Am I's Tim Rogers. An Australian "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", if you will.

You keep on going up in my estimation. Dirty Deeds a decent film, with a better soundtrack. You Am I are one of my favourite bands.
On another note, what do I need to do to get AFOH status as well?
