V8 Supercars Austin 400 Schedule Announced

By Phillip Thomas May 9, 2013

We’re about a week away from the Austin 400, Australian V8 Supercar’s US debut race. Along with fender-into-fender racing, they bring a full weekend of racing with heats on both Saturday and Sunday. On top of that, V8SC will run the Circuit of the Americas short course, eliminating the back straight from the track. Say what you will, but the short course really does house some of the best and trickiest corners on the track, and keeps the race pack passing the fans more often.

Along with V8SC, our Pike’s Peak racing friend of Hooniverse, Brianne Corn, will be running her Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car debut in the No. 83 Hale Motorsports Mazda MX-5 for the support series leading up to the V8SC races.

Schedule after the jump.

Also note that these times are subject to change, so keep track of V8SC’s page for updated times. I will try and update this post if needed.

  1. I'm still on the fence.
If we go, it'll be down Saturday AM and drive back to DFW that night,

  2. I work with V8 Supercars in the US and I'm so excited for the race. If anyone is on the fence (I'm looking at you, Jay), here's a couple recent videos to perhaps sway you…we'd sure like to see you!

…thanks Hooniverse for all the great coverage. We'll be seeing you for sure!

  3. Driving my US Spec Commodore (G8) there. This is going to be fantastic! The 2012 F1 race was great, (missed Grand AM) and I'm looking forward to ALMS/WEC & 2013 F1! Looking at the videos Tburton posted let's hope that NASCAR (at least Nationwide) runs here too, and maybe IRL and get WTCC and/or DTM to give it a try. It would be great to have something every month… The big thing is to get Americans back into road racing and V8 Supercars is perfect for that and COTA is the perfect place to do it!

    1. We have basically had a race every month. March was Grand-Am, April was Moto GP, May is V8SC.. etc. Let me know if you want to meet up at any time, my BookFace is above.
