Howdy y’all!

Welcome to another installment of the vehicles you see in traffic. This week’s post is slightly abbreviated due to me packing up and driving to New York for the Auto Show. I basically just posted up all the pics you sent in, but without quotes or proper credit, which I am deeply sorry about. If you see your picture(s) below, comment and scream. Proper posting will return next week.

This week you hoons have done well, but looking around on various social media outlets, you can do better! This week you get a bonus mystery car in the end too. Enjoy.

  1. Last Car must be the Mystery Car. I know it, so let's see if you do…
By the way, the initials of the car is "M. K."

      1. Well, thanks to you two I now know what it is. Sweet! When I took the pic, I had no idea.

          1. Wow, that is an awesome find! Good to see those cars getting some much deserved love. I can't really forgive you for not getting a shot of the XJ220 though…
Btw, bonus points for you, or any other Bay Area people on here: Where was my shot of the Khamsin taken?

          2. There are no hills or other landmarks visible forward or to the right of the road, which matched 280/85 going north. (my thought too)
After that, I'd have to guess 680 going through Walnut Creek or the like….after that maybe 880 south somewhere, but I can't think of a section of 880 that has sides like that.
Was thinking the same thing (or on 280, after the interchange).

  2. Dat Soarer….
Really loving the dime wagon and MGB too. And I wish someone made a good replica body of the 70's V8 Vantage. I think it would make the perfect muscle car restomod project, but I would never forgive myself for cutting up a real one.

    1. That MGB was beat as hell looking, parked outside a bar in Oakland. It sure sounded healthy (for an MGB…) driving off though.
A Vantage replica would make an awesome restomod… Damn… Someone needs to get on on that.

      1. I know that MGB. I'll see if the owner (and car) can get up early enough to make it to SS. 🙂

  3. I saw a Divco milk truck last week, wearing baby moons on red steelies, with wide whitewalls. It was moving, so I couldn't get a picture. It was advertising something, like a band (I think).

    1. That's funny, I saw one in Big Sur over the weekend, but I'd left my phone in the truck so I couldn't get a shot either… It still had all the milk truck logos and writing on it.

    1. It was half staged. The 8 was mine, but the 7 was just randomly parked in front of my house.

  4. Like the Civic Wagon. Looks like my old one (although mine had an intact, or at least not contrasting, fuel filler door.)

  5. That's just some nice flash of variation. Right now I am sinking deeper and deeper into my sofa, holding my beer, just back home from a two hour drive. Yet on Norwegian roads, you only see greyish Toyota's, Audi's, BMW's and Mercedes these days. Of course, there are a lot of Volvo's, too, which do make me wee bit happy. But there is nothing close to the variety displayed here…thank you!

  6. I knew I recognized that shop. It's a place in Silver Lake in Los Angeles: http://goo.gl/maps/bsvKf
Always has Hoon-worthy cars out front. Typically older Jags and Volvos (as with the 1800 pictured).
As Rob can attest, the greater north-central to north-east LA area is truly, truly an incredible place for cars.

    1. I was actually riding the bus home that day, and the M100 Elan caught my eye first. Naturally, my phone finally opened the camera just as the bus started pulling away…

  7. Some of my recent spottings include:

A 1963 Ford Country Sedan spotted behind a repair shop in Lexington, KY with a Yugo GV and a Ford Ranchero

And a 1972 VW Thing also seen in Lexington, KY.

  8. This week in oncoming traffic and my cell phone camera is bad and the local constabulary will chop your hands off if you use a phone while driving:
-a black 917 kit car. The design was not well executed. I thought the wheelbase might be too short, but Beetles have slightly longer wheelbases than 917. Maybe it's too tall.
-A turquoise Geo Metro with a large portrait of a wolf on the hood. I'm sorry I do not have a picture of this. So sorry.
