So this olelongrooffan has determined that I need to quit hanging out over in that Slacktivism group over at that Book about my Face and reestablish a periodic series of postings here in the Hooniverse. After inadvertently deleting (albeit one) image from my trip to the Daytona International Speedway’s Inaugural Red Bull RallyCross (it was pretty cool even if I was the oldest Hoon there) that I attended a couple weekends ago, I thought I would share yet another Long Shots siting with my fellow Hoons. So a week or so ago, this olelongrooffan was heading up the Tamiami Trail here in toney Naples, Florida to pick up some grub at my local Publix, and I spotted this couple cruising right along having what looked like the time of their lives. In that sweet ragtop, I would be feeling the same. The look and tone of this ride sure allowed this olelongrooffan to Celebrate Life. And the second half of this Porsche twofer? Well making the jump would be required to see that. Well my fellow Hoons, after picking up sufficient food stuffs at my local Publix, which happens to be my former-wife’s favorite grocery store–always fun to run into her there, my longerroof was in need of some groceries of her own so I stopped by my local Mobil station for some petrol refueling. It was there at the very same location that I spotted that coolass old Civic (God has it been six months ago already?) while refueling my longerroof that this old sweetie was sited. While certainly not the Porsche fan that our own Bradley Brownell is, this olelongrooffan is pret-near certain both of these classics are of the 356 persuasion. And ya know what? I don’t care…..this olelongrooffan will be corrected and then my old ass will forget once again. But both of these are absolutely gorgeous and I would Hoon around in either of them. My main question is “Are these chrome wheels a factory option?” I know I have seen them on many of this era rides and they certainly look sharp. Now know this my fellow Hoons, as pretty as this silver beauty looked from twenty feet, up close it is still an old Porsche with all of its wear and tear and aging. But what is that in the reflection of that driver’s window? Only time will tell unless one of my fellow Hoons IDs it long before I get the chance to write that Long Shots post up. But no matter what, this silver beauty is sure desirable to this olelongrooffan. Almost as much as that silver beauty longroof in the background. Reliability of either be damned.
