So, a whiles back this olelongrooffan shared with my fellow Hoons the fact that I have yet another daily driver for utilization in cruising the highways and byways of the southern half of the Sunshine State trying to coerce some dudes to install some stairs and railings for OldAJ and the firm he owns. Contrary to my previous life where, as thejeepjunkie liked to say, “it takes the oldlongrooffan 7 hours to make a 3 hour journey,” (something I am rather proud of BTW,) these days my life is all about getting from destination to destination, the journey be damned. As such, there is little time to stop and smell the gear oil and most of my sightings are on one of Eisenhower’s Highway Systems.
No usually, and unfortunately, most of the nearly 1,000 miles per week this olelongrooffan subjects my newish Xbox to acquire are in traffic such as this. Stop and Go. With every driver rubber necking every accident and lighting up their brake lights at every driver of a black and tan Charger parked on the side of the roadway. Seriously, if a FHP dude is standing beside a car stopped in front of his parked cruiser, the likelihood of his aiming a radar gun at you is negligible. Just cruise on by. They aren’t gonna stop you for cruising at 79 MPH. Seriously, unless you are driving like a freakin’ maniac, less than 10 over and you are invisible to them.
Sorry my fellow Hoons, this olelongrooffan is digressing once again.
But I will say this past week I spotted a relatively rare sight this olelongrooffan had to share with my fellow Hoons. All of the vehicles in these images were seen by this olelongrooffan in the span of about fifteen minutes. I have been feeling a bit of Roman Catholic guilt for not contributing much these past few weeks here in the Hooniverse and was wondering what I could share with my fellow Hoons that would be of interest.
Well Hoons, when I spotted this classic W113 being driven on a week day morning by a guy who, when I passed him and he looked over at me and saw me checking out his cool ride, gave me a hearty thumbs up, this olelongrooffan knew I had a shared Hoon moment I just had to share with my fellow Hoons.
Until the next time, keep on Hooning.
