Track Tuesday: About Last Week's Track

Screen Shot 2015-03-08 at 2.35.03 PM
Well, last week I was finally able to find a track that could stump you. Perhaps it was the landmark-free cropping of the image, or maybe it was just a track that you don’t often see from the air, if at all. I’m still not going to tell you what it is, but am offering up for you the whole enchilada, and that should be enough for most of you to figure out its identity.
We’ll have another track later today, and maybe that one will also be a challenge. We shall see.

My guess was close… in that it was in the same country 😀

Ferrari’s Fiorano test track. I would love to claim that I recognized it, but actually “Via Gilles Villeneuve” was a giveaway.

I don’t feel so bad now. I can honestly say I have never seen an overhead of this track before. Not much “Aerial coverage provided by the Goodyear Blimp,” at this track.

True, there really aren’t any since this is a private test track. You see in-car shots a lot whenever someone’s testing a Ferrari there, but almost never from the air. I’ve seen enough of those that I was able to tell from the bridge and the alternate routes on some of the turns… but that’s it.

I meant for last week’s challenge. I’ve done pretty well so far in the previous weeks. It was completely foreign to me.
As soon as I saw the whole layout, I knew which track it was, but the clue last week was easily the toughest to date.

It’s easy to say in retrospect, but I had considered last week that it might be a test track, but I didn’t even know where to start looking for that.
